Salt is mainly used in cooking to improve the taste of food and due to the content of important substances that the body needs. It is also present in the household, as it has not been replaced by chemicals, and in cosmetics, where they use not only salt, but also salt mud and brine, because they have a beneficial effect on the skin.
It is not possible to prepare good food without that beautiful little white thing, which some call the queen of spices.
We could get used to living without almost any other food over time, but let’s just try to imagine a life without salt and realize its importance to our daily lives. Even among the salts, Slovenians have their own domestic quality, which we can be proud of: in the Piran salt pans, which are formed by the Sečovlje and Strunjan salt pans, they also produce extremely prized salt abroad. And this according to a seven-century-old tradition, as they say that today's production process has not changed significantly in all this time.
