The color of the scarf worn by the witch may differ from the model in the picture, as each item is an original.
According to an old folk tradition, a witch should hang in every house, facing the front door. She was supposed to let only joy and happiness into the house with her gaze, and to drive away bad intentions and evil thoughts.
They are usually depicted with a characteristic pointed hat, sometimes with a broom with which they are supposed to fly. They are supposed to be accompanied by their so-called magic animals. Witches are said to cast spells and cook various potions and concoctions. Some people also attribute to them the ability to foretell, prophesy, clairvoyance, and change the image. In doing so, they are supposed to use gadgets such as e.g. a cauldron, a magic wand, magic books, and various magic symbols and amulets. The power of witches is said to be greatest on so-called magic days (Thursday, Friday and Saturday), at night and at the full moon. Coprnice or witches, as they were also called, were supposed to meet at night (a popular gathering place for witches in Slovenia was supposed to be Mount Slivnica).
